All round celebrations at Colchester nursery for recognition for having all staff trained in paediatric first aid.
Holmwood House Nursery has gone above and beyond the minimum requirements for paediatric First Aid. All staff at the Colchester nursery have received paediatric first aid training and because of this, they have been awarded the Millie’s Mark award.
Millie’s Mark is an award which is given to childcare providers that go above and beyond the minimum requirements by having 100% of their staff trained in paediatric. Millies Mark is named after the tragic accident of Millie Thompson who died after choking on a piece of food at her nursery, this accident happened in 2012.
Millie’s parents Dan and Joanne Thompson campaigned for changes to be made to the minimum requirements for childcare providers.
