Q – “How do settings pay term time staff – over 12 months? Also do they pay holiday pay or not?”
Answers
A – “We pay our staff for the hours they work each month not pro rata. We then pay holiday pay in the summer holidays so the staff aren’t ever without any money any part of the year.”
A – “I work term time in a private nursery but only take fill weeks not the odd days, I get paid reduced wages all year round and still get holidays for what I work as font get paid for what I am off, I need use 4 days for bank holiday Monday and get 5 other days”
A – “Hours worked out over the year and equal payments spread over 11 months. (Nothing in August). They get 10% extra on top of their monthly wages for holiday pay”
A – “Paid for 38 weeks worked and 4 weeks hol – we give staff a choir on how it’s paid both requested spread over the 12 months”
A – “Wages split and paid over 12 months. Last working day of each month. Plus 5 weeks holiday again split over 12 months. Overtime paid monthly”
A – “As above , as an LSA we get paid for the 40 weeks in the term , plus 4 weeks holiday entitlement divided over 12 months .”
A – “I get hours worked out over the year and 4 weeks holiday paid so I get the same wage every month”
A – “39 weeks per year, pro rata, holiday pay included each month.”
A – “I pay weekly the hours the staff work, they get 4 weeks holiday per year on top.”
A – “I was paid when i worked. So no pay in holidays as term time only.”
A – “39 weeks split over 11 months then statutory 5.6 weeks during August holidays.”
A – “If someone worked say 3 days a week during term time instead of 5 would their paid holiday be less (pro rata)?”
A – “Mine is all added up including holiday and split over 12 months”
A – “Yes to both questions my staff get paid 38 weeks plus 4 weeks holiday divided over 12 months”
A – “We calculate wage using hmrc site”
A – “work out 38 weeks, spread over 12 months, adjust each month as and when staff work over or have time off, then add holiday pay (I use the hmrc holiday pay calculator) it’s easy once you have worked out the basic monthly amount. Remember holiday pay is a legal requirement based on hours worked so even if you work term time only your still entitled to some holiday pay”
