Working families in wales with children aged nine months to receive 10hrs free childcare
The Welsh Liberal Democrats pledge for 10hrs free childcare for under twos. Parents will be able to receive 10 hrs of free childcare a week under this new pledge.
The Lib Dems are the first party to make this pledge ahead of the National Assembly election in May.
Other parties have said they would extend the already free entitlement of ten hours to 30 hrs for three and four year’s olds a week
The proposal for this pledge consists of the following
- Working parents with children aged nine months to two will receive 10 hrs free childcare for 38 weeks of the years
- All parents with children aged two to three would receive 10 hrs free childcare a week for 38 weeks of the year
- All children aged three to four would receive 15 hrs free education for 38 weeks of the year.
They would in the long term look to extend all the pledges to 48 weeks of the year and extend the 10 hrs for younger children to 15 hrs a week.
Many of us reading this will be thinking what happens if government think this is a good idea for the rest of the UK then what?
