It has been highlighted that a 71 per cent of children in Bolton is reaching the levels expected for Speech and Language. However, 29 percent are failing to meet the levels expected. Bolton MP Yasmin Qureshi has contacted the new education secretary Justine Greening to raise concerns.
Data showing these figures have been obtained by MP Yasmin Qureshi, who is also concerned about the significant gap in performance between boys and girls.
Save the Children Charity have passed evidence to the MP highlighting the concerns that a percentage of five years are not achieving the expected levels of speech and language skills.
According to the data, the 71 per cent of children that did reach the levels is still below the national average of 80 percentage. Evidence from Save the Children suggests that high-quality early education led by early years teachers can make a significant difference to the quality of learning children receive.Do people agree with this?
