Smarty Pants Day nursery recognised for having 100 percent of their staff trained in Paediatric First Aid
Smarty Pants Day Nursery are over the moon after being recognised for having all their staff trained in Paediatric First Aid, the nursery in Tipton has been awarded Millie’s Mark endorsement. Millie’s Mark is named after Millie Thompson who sadly died at the age of nine months after choking on food at a nursery in 2012.
Both parents of Millie worked extremely hard to create a campaign asking for changes to be made to requirements for first Aid for childcare providers. Many people warmed to the changes as current requirements state that only one paediatric first aid trainer has to to be on site at all times, this is however deemed not enough.
