Government cuts cause more childcare settings to close
It is becoming more apparent that Government cuts have affected more childcare setting that we originally thought. News of childcare settings closing is becoming headline news in many local papers. Many of these childcare settings have been open for years and have survived other hits being thrown at them, however, the Government cuts have finally put a nail in the coffin and these nurseries can no longer provide the outstanding care they have been offering.
Many families are now going to be left without childcare. Childcare providers are blaming the decision for closure due to lack of government support. The government funding for the 15hours has seen many nurseries offering care at a loss and now with the introduction of the 30hrs, this is only going to get worse. For many childcare providers, this will mean they will not be sustainable.
With many childcare providers closing, there isn’t going to be the childcare places available of which is being portrayed in the Government message of “More childcare places available”
We would like to hear from any childcare providers that have been affected by the Government cuts?

I have a Pre-School at present doing the 15 hours per week, and I find the figures do not tally when upgrading even to a 20 hour week, unless we will be able to charge a fee for top up, or lunch club.
