Millie’s Mark a new quality mark has been launched
Nurseries are being urged to begin working towards achieving the new quality mark for excellence in Paediatric First Aid. Nurseries will be awarded a certificate once all staff who work with children have completed paediatric first aid training.
Millie’s Mark was created by charity Millie’s Trust with the Department for Education (DfE). Giving nurseries the award will help give parents the reassurance that their children are kept safe at nursery. Over 500 nurseries have expressed an interest, and the NDNA will administer this new quality mark.
According to the EYFS, it currently states that only one person on the premises has to have paediatric first aid. However, many childcare providers ensure that all their staff have this type of training.
