New lease of life for Smethwick Fire Station

Smethwick Fire Station is to become a Nursery

The historic fire station is going to be transformed into a nursery, £130,000 will spent on the revamp by Zadvider Padda and his family.

Fireflies will become the new name for the nursery and the historic building has been name Station House representing the history of the building.

Mr Padda, who also runs GNG Nursery in Smethwick, said: “The fire station has been out of use since the 1980s and I saw an opportunity to do something with it.

 There will be lots of work needing to transorm this into a nursery,however the amount of work doesnt put owners off.

The new nursery is hoping to open its doors in the next couple of months and this will showcase all the hard that has gone into restoring some heritage and history of the station.
