Report for Lincolnshire nursery has been withdrawn while Ofsted regional inspector looks into the concerns
Ofsted has removed Town and County Kiddies Nursery’s latest report which criticised them for not displaying enough ethnic posters and not teaching children about different cultures.
The owner explained that the nursery is situated in an area with very little cultural diversity. She also explained that the nursery is in an area with little cultural diversity. The nursery has been stripped off their outstanding grade and been rated good.
An Ofsted spokeswoman said: “The regional director has spoken to the owner about her concerns, and we have withdrawn the report while we review the case.”
Before the report was withdrawn Louise Davies told the Market Rasen Mail: “There are things they’d like us to do over and above – children having an understanding of other people and different cultures.
“It comes with living in the community where there isn’t a great deal of cultural and ethnic diversity.
“They do not see that on a day-to-day basis, unlike nurseries in London where they do have it on a day-to-day basis.”
The inspector told Ms Davies that the nursery needed to display more pictures of ethnic posters
Town and Country Kiddies Nursery await the outcome of the investigation.
