Paint Pots Nurseries are victims of burglaries

Burglars smash their way into Paint Pots Nurseries

Paint Pots Nurseries in Southampton have been victims of some horrendous spate of attacks. Over the last week, four of their five nurseries have been burgled leaving the whole team deeply upset.

The heartless burglars urinated in baby’s cots as well as on the children’s soft play equipment. Cash and electrical equipment were some of the items stolen. Three of the burglaries took place on the same Saturday night.

David Wright, who owns seven nurseries in Southampton, said: “Significant force was used to smash and kick in doors; wrench open locked filing cabinets and scatter the contents of cupboards. The damage has mainly been to external doors and office furniture most of which will need replacing.

“In an added act of insult at one of the sites, the perpetrators urinated onto cot mattresses, carpet and soft play equipment across two rooms before turning up the heating to ensure maximum penetration and smell.”

David Wright said that the whole staff team is shaken and incredulous that anyone could do such a thing and added: “The extent of this campaign against us seems to be personal and unprecedented. We accept that break-ins are a sad fact of life but five in one week is difficult to cope with. The revelation that someone has deliberately soiled babies’ cots and soft play equipment used by our youngest and most vulnerable children are beyond credibility”.

The burglaries are being investigated by Hampshire police, nurseries that have been targeted are on Spring crescent, Waterloo road, Howard road and Burgess road. The burglaries took place either in the evening or during the night, which some sites were burgled more than once

It has been identified that the burglars gained entrance on each occasion via a fire door, front door or rear door.

For anyone to have to go through this once is bad enough but to have to go through this more than once is heartbreaking.

The police are investigating each incident and are asking anyone with information on any if these burglaries to get in touch on 101 and quote 44160068683.”
