Petition for government to re think free 30hrs childcare

Petition to sign to rethink the free 30hrs childcare

Nursery providers to sign a petition in order for government to re think the free 30hrs childcare

A petition has been put together by Linda Simons who runs two Kidz Kabin nurseries in north London.  The proposal of the free 30hr childcare has not been thought through, the gap between the amount being offered to nurseries is not going to cover the cost of providing the service.

The aim of the petition is for government to reconsider the 30hrs childcare and revert to offering the 15 hrs. If the need for an additional  15hrs is required for parents this could be offered to parents on a subsided basis depending on parents earnings. Offering the free 30hrs childcare this way would mean that parents on  low incomes would be eligible, and other families would need to pay for the extra 15 hrs on a means tested basis.

If this is something you feel strongly about then sign the petition. If the petition receives more than 100,000 signatures then this may be looked at in parliament
