The proportion of good or outstanding early years settings has risen to 91%
According to latest figures, the proportion of nurseries, preschools, and childminders judged by Ofsted has risen to 91%. These figures are continually growing, and this demonstrates the consistent level of high-quality care offered to children.
It is now believed that the amount of good and outstanding nurseries are the same in the most deprived areas of the country compared to the least deprived. Being recognised as being good and outstanding by watchdog Ofsted is an achievement.
In areas such as Suffolk, the percentage of good or outstanding is just one percent below the national average. With these figures in mind, it means when children leave the end of the foundation stage they achieve a good level of development compared to the rest of the country. Therefore high-quality provisions are important as well as ensuring practitioners demonstrate high standards of teaching and learning.
As we are about to see a change in childcare, e.g., the introduction of the 30hrs free childcare, will this affect some nurseries, preschools, and childminders being judged good or outstanding?
