New scheme to help Nurseries promote healthy eating
A new project launched next year will help nurseries to promote healthy eating. The Pre School Learning Alliance and the British Nutrition Foundation and Dannone Ecosystem Fund have joined together to create this project.
The new project will allow nutritionists to support early years practitioners and chefs to deliver a healthy programme to children.
The whole aim of the project is to give nurseries the necessary guidance they need to support children and families to understand the importance of nutrition.
Nurseries that relish this support with also be able to gain an endorsed nutrition quality mark.
Nutritionist will provide childcare settings with resources, training and support in order to help them maintain an approach to healthy eating. The Pre School Alliance will support setting through their membership networks.
The first stage of the network will be launched in jan 2016 and then the expansion of the project will be rolled out over the three years.
