Supporting Save Our Early Years Campaign

Julie Hyde, Executive Director at the awarding organisation CACHE, will tell a Westminster Education Forum event tomorrow that the Government policy to only accept GCSEs in English and maths as qualifications for Level 3 Early Years Educators is causing a “signifcant threat to recruitment”.

Julie Hyde will say that if this issue is not addressed, the sector will be unable to meet the Government’s pledge for more free childcare places, along with the Government’s target for apprenticeship starts.

CACHE is one of the supporters of the Save Our Early Years campaign, which is campaigning for Functional Skills to be accepted as alternative qualifications for Level 3 Early Years Educators.
