TV Presenter states that childcare providers do ok as they suck up free money

Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff TV programme presenter Matthew Wright says that childcare providers do ok as they suck up free money and because of this they do ok from the funding.

Matthew Wright, presenter of The Wright Stuff, comments have caused outrage in the Early Years SectorMatthew Wright also said, ‘I wonder whether we should throw the whole policy out and scrap it, or if there is a way of subsidising childcare to help parents, but not allow childminders and nurseries to run into the sunset with bags of taxpayers’ cash.’

As you can expect this has caused fury from the early year’s sector, as many childcare providers are not running into the sunset with taxpayers money, many are struggling to keep afloat due to a shortfall in funding.

Many have criticised presenter Matthew Wright for not getting his facts right, and the suggesting of loosening ratios to bring down costs was a ludicrous suggestion.

Cutting ratios are most definitely not the answer, potentially causing further issues.
