The Common Inspection Framework Nursery World conference 2016
The conference was put together to help those working in the early years setting to become more familiar with The Common Inspection Framework. It looks at what changes have been implemented and how to help prepare settings for an Ofsted inspection.
The Common Inspections Framework was introduced in September 2015. It was designed to bring together the inspection of different education, skills and early years settings to provide greater coherence across different providers that cater for similar age ranges. Allowing parent to compare early years settings, giving them a more fairer way of judging them. As and when children move from one setting to another now that settings are compatible the greater consistency creates a smoother transition for children and families.
The new handbook on the The Common Inspection Framework is available for settings to download, it helps layout how inspectors will be inspecting settings according to the new changes made. It is important to become familiar with these inspection points as this will help during an Ofsted inspection.
The areas in which Ofsted make their judgements are now ‘overall effectiveness’, ‘effectiveness of leadership and management’, ‘quality of teaching, learning and assessment’, ‘personal development,’ ‘behaviour and welfare’, and ‘outcomes for children’.
