Do apprentices get paid holiday?

Q –“ I wanted to ask about apprentices – if they should get paid for their holidays and how many hours a week they should work?”

Answers

A – “Apprentices are entitled to the same benefits as a qualified employee. Under the working time directive, no matter level 2 or 3, they are to work a MAXIMUM of 40 hours after breaks. As an assessor, it’s part of my bread and butter to know this,”

A – “Apprentices should get the same benefits of holiday like everyone else…”

A – “Apprentices have more rights with regards to on and off job training in Scotland. They have same holiday rights and if under 18 they are entitled to more breaks.”

A – “I hot paid for my holidays I was entitled to same amount of holidays as all staff (4 weeks) just cause they are training shouldn’t mean they get treated any different”

A – “I work 41 hours a week 8-5:30 4 days a week and 8-1 1 day on £3.40 as a qualified level 2 traine level 3 I get 20 days payed holiday per year only to be taken in school holidays as we open year round”

A – “they are an employee with the same rights as any other employee. but they get paid their apprentice wage while on holiday”

A – “i thought as a apprentice you got paid 52 weeks of the year, so got holidays. see gov.uk/apprenticeships,, the basic rate is set on here about £132 per week and its up to employer is they wish to pay more.”
