Are you looking to gain a level 3 Childcare qualification?
The training course Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) is a course that covers vital training to help students become a qualified Early Years Educator. The course has been put together for those that have some experience of working with children but would like to further their career possibly into a leadership role. The course content helps students understand how to provide a safe and stimulating environment. It enables students to work with children from 0 to 5 and the course content also covers knowledge of children aged 5 to 7. Some people will be more familiar with the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce course, however the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) has replaced that course. The new course and qualification will set the standards for all professionals working in the childcare industry.
Until recently the entry requirement for this Level 3 course was GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths. However applicants can now study for their English and Maths Grade alongside their level 3 qualification, however to count in level 3 ratio in a nursery they must achieve the GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths on completion of the level 3 course.
The following qualifications have been agreed as acceptable equivalences to GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above:
- UK recognised predecessor qualifications: ‘O’ level A – C or CSE Grade 1
- Recognised Scottish, Northern Irish and Welsh equivalents
- AS and A/2 levels
